Some creative photography

Denis Darzacq is French photographer who has a series of photos called “La Chute”.  These are some very cool photos where Darzacq managed to catch his subjects in mid flight.  The result is some impossible looking photos where people seem to be flying or about to be seriously injured.  A neat series.  Check it out.

Take Your Place

Ξ March 23rd, 2007 | → 0 Comments | ∇ Journal, Music |

Last year Dan Poxon and I co-wrote a song called “Take Your Place”.  At the beginning of this year Lianna Klassen decided that she’d like to use this song on her CD that she just release this month.  The CD is called “The Guest” and should available at christian book stores.  You can also go to her website and order it.

The CD has a definately celtic flavour.  I’d call it celtic folk I suppose.  Lianna’s songs create interesting and powerful sound scapes.  It’s a CD well worth owning.

So this was the first time a really established artist has actually recorded one of my songs.  It’s a good feeling.  It’s also kind of fun to see what other people do with your songs.  Lianna and I are quite different sylistically so we’d likely never do a song in the same way on a recording, but it’s still nice to see another take on the song.  She tells me it has been well recieved so far as well, so I’m happy about that too.  It’s a song that I’ve introduced at our church as well and it gets a lot of positive comments.

Anyways, you should all go and check it out.  :)

A new look.

So my dad just did an update to his blog and made it look all new and spiffy.  I couldn’t resist doing that myself.  So here I am again.   I hope you all like the new look.  I’ve added some photos on the right too.

In August Krsity and I are expecting our first baby.  It’s still a ways off for us, so for me it hasn’t really sunk in.  The other night though I had an interesting dream where I was playing with our baby (who was a girl in my dream by the way) kind of like I would play with out dog, Checkers.   I found myself experiencing a new kind of feeling.  A feeling where I knew this little person actually had a part of me in her and that this little person’s happiness really depended on me - well Kristy and I.

I feel that with our dog too, but with a person it was somehow different.   It was a nice dream.  I liked feeling like I was going to have a purpose in this person’s life.   It’s good to feel like you have a purpose.
